We are looking for a naturally gifted photo editor for our dynamic new Creative Studio in Nairobi. The photo editor will be responsible for editing all the photos taken at the studio and at events.
The applicant should be highly motivated, with great work ethics, personable and willing to work in a fast paced demanding work environment with quick turnarounds and be very much a team player. A keen eye for detail and maintaining a frictionless user experience for both staff and clients is crucial to meet the standards and quality of the Mint Glint Studio as a creative space.
The key activities outlined below represent an overview of the position of the photo editor and should not be seen as a prescriptive list of activities. A flexible, creative, innovative and responsive approach is vital, together with initiative in identifying and focusing on what needs to be done to contribute to the achievement of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Photo Editing: Edit, enhance, and process images using software such as
Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One or similar tools.
• Photo Retouching: Apply advanced retouching techniques to improve image
quality, including skin smoothing, color correction, and background adjustments.
• Collaboration: Work closely with photographers, designers, and the creative
team to ensure images align with the brand’s vision and goals.
• Consistency: Maintain a consistent visual style across all edited images,
ensuring they adhere to project guidelines and company standards.
• Quality Assurance: Review final images to ensure high-quality standards are
met before Submission or publication.
• File Management: Organize and maintain a library of edited images for easy
retrieval and future use.
• Feedback Integration: Revise images based on feedback from clients or team
members promptly.
Requirements:
• Proven experience as a Photo Editor or similar role.
• Proficiency in photo editing software (Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One etc.)
• Advanced photo retouching skills (e.g., skin retouching, blemish removal,
and enhancement).
• Strong understanding of color grading, composition, and lighting
techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Creativity and a strong aesthetic sense.
• Ability to take constructive feedback and apply it effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• working in a studio and photography skills will be an added advantage.
